I contact iMove canada (4168483811) and Spoke to Andrew and Paul. they provided wonderful phone support and answered all my questions. They provided alternatives and matched the rates I was quoted by other companies. i also confirmed as their website states that they take credit card payments. I arranged for 3 movers to arrive at 9am with a large enough truck to do one trip to pickering with my 2 bedroom apartment contents. unfortunately the following happened...
1) they were 1 hour late
2) only 2 movers showed
3) they advised the truck was too small and they would send a 2nd truck in 30 minutes to be loaded - that truck never showed
4) the 3rd mover was stuck in traffic (showed at 1:50pm)
5) they advised they wouldnt charge for any travel time for the truck to make a second trip
6) part way through loading the truck the movers demanded that we pay cash - and if they didn't they would leave the site with our belongings in their truck. my mother is 60 years old and doesn't need to be threatend.
7) we agreed to pay cash and were advised that this would need to be done before the truck is completely unloaded.
8) after advising they would cover all our furniture they actually managed to damage each and every one of our pieces of wooden furniture
9) approx 30 minutes before they completed the move (now 8:30pm at night) they produced a piece of paper demanding $800 cash. At this time our couches and beds were still on the truck and again they threatened to leave with our belongings
10) did I mention the movers only spoke russian and wouldn't communicate with us except to demand money - then their english was good enough!
11) they broke many mirrors and pictures and we were told to call for a form to fill out... I have left 9 voicemail messages and emailed 3 times and nothing has been done. My move took place on Nov 30th 2007 and now it's Dec 8th. | ||
